Description:Alan and Joy Barker went into business running the Old Post Office in 'Old Hednesford' from around 1954 until around 1960 when they sold up to move to a business in Surrey.

The Old Post Office was located on the corner of Hill Street and Lower Road. The building still exists although it is now a private house, with a plaque on the wall notes it used to be the old post office.

'Old Hednesford' refers to the area near the Cross Keys; the site of the original Hednesford before its 19th century mining expansion.
