Description:Four members of the Young Farmers section of the national Farmers Union hoeing and singling mangolds during skilled competitions at Rodbaston Farm Institute. Nearest the camera is the judge.
Rodbaston College's origins lie in 1919 when the War Agricultural Committee opened an agricultural training depot. In 1921 it became Rodbaston Farm Institute, which was run by the County Council. It was renamed the Staffordshire College of Agriculture in 1967. In 1994 it became independent and was renamed Rodbaston College. Since 2009 it has been part of South Staffordshire College, who have refurbished the Hall as a wedding and conference venue.
