Description:On the front row third from left is Mrs Wright and fourth from left is the Reverend Cedric Wright.
St. Chad's dates from the Norman period, although the west tower was rebuilt in local brick in the seventeenth century after the original tower collapsed. Evidence of Norman architecture can still be seen in the chancel arch and the north arcade.
Inside the church can be found a church warden's chest, dated 1610, a Jacobean pulpit, and the alabaster tomb of William Bowyer (died 1593). The south window contains fifteenth century stained glass.
