Coronation mugs (Kindly given by Mr. E. J. Johnson of Altona) will be presnted to the children from the Urban District at the various schools.

1:00 pm

A PROCESSION will be formed in the Council Field in Stafford Road in the following order :—

Police.

Burslem Imperial Prize Band.

Members of British Legion (Men’s Branch).


Members of British Legion (Women’s Branch).


Fire Brigade.

St. John’s Ambulance’ Brigade.

The Carnival Queen and her Retinue.

Chairman (Councilor T Bagley), Members and
Officers of. the Urban District Council, and Members of the Coronation Celebration Committee.

Members of ’Stone Traders’ Association.

Friendly Societies:


"Earl Granville” Lodge of Oddfellows.

"Stanefield Court", Ancient Order of Foresters.


‘‘St. Michael’s” Lodge of Druids.

1-30 p.m.
Police Superintendent- J. Waldron will act as Marshal of the Procession, the formation of which will be four-a-breast. The Procession will move off at 1-30 p.m. prompt, and proceed along Stafford Street, High Street, Station Road and Mount Road, en route to the Common Plot, on reaching which, Trees will be planted by three children selected from the Junior Elementary Schools in the Town, and the Assembly will sing the National - Anthem.

2-30 p.m.
ATHLETIC SPORTS will commence (for particulars of which see the special announcement).

4-0 p.m.
The School Children will proceed to their respective Schools for Tea at 4-30 p.m., and afterwards return to the Common Plot.


8-30 p.m
A Whist Drive will be held in St. Michael’s Hall.

9-30 p.m.
CARNIVAL DANCES will be held in St. Joseph’s Hall and at the Crown Hotel.
For particulars of which see special announcement.

10-0 p.m.
A BONFIRE will be lighted on the highest point of the Common Plot by Mrs. T. Bagley (the wife of the Chairman of the Urban District Council).

The Bursiem Imperial Band will play selections during the afternoon and evening, and the Bells of St. Michael’s Church will be rung at intervals during
the day.

On Thursday, May 13th, at 6 p.m., all inhabitants of the age of 65 years and over, will be given a Dinner and Entertainment at the Crown Hotel, Stone (the cost of which is being kindly defrayed by Mr. A. G. Johnson, of The Radfords).
