Description:St. John's Church, formerly the Congregational Church, was built in 1871 to a design by George Bidlake. It stands on the corner of Longton Road and Granville Terrace. On 7 March 1886 the interior was destroyed by fire. The church was rebuilt and is now St. John's Methodist and United Reformed Church. The church closed in 2012, with the final service taking place on 26th August.
