Description:A newspaper report of the time explains:

"The County Police Force has taken delivery of a time-saving £4,500 'horse walker' which is used to exercise animals. The equipment has been installed at the Force's Mounted Branch at Police HQ at Stafford. It means that four of the Force's thirteen horses can be exercised at one time, speeding up the process and allowing more mounted officers to get out on the streets. Inspector David Knobb, who is head of the mounted branch said: "It is my intention to use this equipment to try and encourage more patrols throughout the county involving officers on horse-back."
