Description:A postcard view published by William Shaw of Burslem. Note the ploughs, wheels and iron tyres outside the smithy. The blacksmith at the time this photograph was taken was Thomas Cheadle.

The smithy was built in the early 19th century by the Earls of Harrowby, and is a Grade II listed building.
