Description:The Darlaston Cafe was a regular watering hole for travellers on the A34; the main route north-south through Staffordshire before the M6. In this postcard view coaches and lorries are parked by the cafe, mostly facing south.
Opened in 1929 by Donald Campbell, it was one of a number of road-side cafés and petrol stations on the stretch of road between Tittensor and Stone. It was later known as Silver Birches Cafe and is now (2022) part of R M Commercials.
