Description:The Darlaston Cafe was a regular watering hole for travellers on the A34; the main route north-south through Staffordshire before the M6. The buses in this postcard are carrying holiday makers heading north - note the suitcases on the roof racks. The coach companies are Finnylands, Eniway Motor Services and Majestic, none of which are local companies.
Opened in 1929 by Donald Campbell, it was one of a number of road-side cafés and petrol stations on the stretch of road between Tittensor and Stone. It was later known as Silver Birches Cafe and is now (2022) part of R M Commercials.
