Date:1980 - 1990 (c.)

Description:The Ice House was located adjacent to the Gas House in Park Drive and was cut out of the rock face of the old quarry. Gardeners at the hall would convey the ice from the frozen lake at Trentham, and transfer it to the Ice House, where it would be packed tight and insulated with straw to slow down the melting process. The Ice House has a brick lined chamber. The ice would be used to preserve and prepare food for the estate kitchens.
