Description:Children from Granville Secondary Modern School, Stone on holiday at Conway, North Wales. This photograph was taken at Conway Morfa, with Conway Mountain in the background. The holiday ended three days early because of the outbreak of World War II.

Built on Old Road in 1935, Granville Secondary Modern School merged with Alleyne's School in 1969 to form the comprehensive Alleyne’s High School. Since the three-tier school system was introduced in Stone in 1976 the buildings have been the home of Christchurch Middle School.
