Description:A photograph of 'Gypsy' Smith (far right) and his family. These photographs were believed to have been taken in Staffordshire, but can anyone add any more information?

Richard Johnson, who is researching Gypsy Traveller heritage in the South West Peak Park area adds: "The Gypsy Smith in this photo is a different person to the Gypsy Smith in the other photograph in this group (no rings on this man's fingers). The sun is brighter and in a different direction in the other photos so I suspect they are not taken on the same day or maybe not even in the same place. The two children dressed in white on this photo I suspect are not members of the Gypsy family but rather are the children of the photographer. The Gypsy family don't look too pleased to be photographed. We know that Romany Gypsy Smith families travelled through Staffordshire and stopped at Wincle, Hartington, Longnor and Earl Sterndale."
