Description:Dr. John Bridgeman (1577-1652) was Bishop of Chester 1619-1652. He married Elizabeth Helyar, daughter of Reverend William Helyar, in 1606. His oldest son Orlando was a judge and baronet and his third son Henry Bridgeman a bishop. He died at Moreton in Shropshire and was buried at Kinnersley, Herefordshire. He is an ancestor of the Bridgeman family, Earls of Bradford, of Weston Park.
