Description:Sir Thomas Salt (1830-1903), banker and Conservative politician, was Member of Parliament for Stafford 1859-1865, 1868-1885 and 1886-1892. He was Alderman of Staffordshire County Council 1889-1904. He was a partner in the banking firm Stevenson Salt & Co., and owned Baswich House and Standon Hall. His uncle was William Salt.
