Description:Lithograph print. A caricature of Dr. Edward Vaughan Hyde Kenealy (1819-1880), Irish barrister and writer, by 'Spy', with caption 'the claimant's council'. Appeared in 'Vanity Fair' 13th September 1873. He is best remembered as counsel for the Tichborne claimant in 1871, and was also junior counsel in the, unsuccessful, defence of William Palmer, the Rugeley Poisoner. He married Elizabeth Nicklin of Tipton, Staffordshire in 1851 and the family lived in Sussex. Kenealy was Member of Parliament for Stoke on Trent 1875-1880.
