Description:Lithograph print. A caricature of Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton (1837-1909) by 'Spy', with caption 'Burton' . Appeared in 'Vanity Fair' 25th November 1908.

Lord Burton was born on 12 November 1837, at the Bass family town house, 136 High Street. He was a Member of Parliament between 1865 and 1886. He died at Chesterfield House, his London property, on 1 February 1909, and is buried in Rangemore churchyard, adjoining the family estate.
