Description:Lithograph print. A caricature of Robert William Hanbury (1845-1903), politician, by 'Spy', with caption 'A financial secretary' . Appeared in 'Vanity Fair' 28th May 1896.

He was the only son of Robert Hanbury, of Bolehall House, Tamworth, Staffordshire, and his wife Mary, daughter of Major T. B. Bamford, of Wilnecote Hall. He was Conservative Member of Parliament for Tamworth 1872-1878, North Staffordshire 1878-1880 and Preston 1885-1903. Hanbury was Financial Secretary to the Treasury 1895-1900 and President of the Board of Agriculture 1900-1903. He was buried at Ilam church, near his country seat.
