Description:Thomas Parker (1666/7-1732) was the son of Thomas Parker, attorney of Leek. He was created Baron Parker of Macclesfield in 1716 and Earl of Macclesfield in 1721. He was Whig Member of Parliament for Derby between 1705-1710 and served as Lord Chancellor between 1716 and 1725.

In 1725 he was impeached for corruption and found guilty by the House of Lords. He was fined £30,000 and imprisoned in the Tower of London until the fine was paid. He spent the rest of his life at Shirburn Castle in Oxfordshire.
