Description:William Paget, 1st Baron Paget of Beaudesert (1506-1563) was Executor for Henry VIII, member of the Council for Edward VI, signatory for the Queenship of Lady Jane Grey, and advisor to Mary. He became Lord Paget of Beaudesert in 1549. Paget was Custos Rotulorum for Staffordshire from at least 1547 until 1563, and became joint Lord Lieutenant for Staffordshire and Middlesex in 1551. He married Anne Preston (died 1586/7), daughter of Henry Preston in about 1530.
