Description:Granville Leveson-Gower (1721-1803), 3rd Baron and 2nd Earl Gower and Marquess of Stafford. He was born at Trentham and was a son of John Leveson-Gower, 1st Earl Gower, and Lady Evelyn Pierrepoint. He was Member of Parliament for Lichfield in 1754, Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire 1755-1800 and High Steward of Stafford in 1769. He was created Marquess of Stafford in 1786 and married three times. A mezzotint by E. Fisher after a painting by Joshua Reynolds.
