Learie Nicholas Constantine (1901-1971) was born in Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies cricketer. He was a fast bowler, attacking batsman and a fine fielder who played 18 tests for the West Indies. He lived for many years in Nelson, Lancashire, where he was professional for the town's cricket club. After retiring from cricket he became Minister of Communication for Trinidad & Tobago, and was High Commissioner to London 1962-1964. In 1969 he was awarded a life peerage.
