Description:Manchester City goalkeeper, Frank Swift, shaking hands with Stoke City captain Neil Franklin in front of a packed Victoria Ground crowd.

Frank Swift played 19 times for England. After retirement he became a sports journalist and was reporting on Manchester United's European Cup match with Red Star Belgrade when he died in the Munich air disaster.

Neil Franklin was centre-half for Stoke City from 1939 to 1950 and played 27 times for England. He left Stoke to play in Columbia, but shortly afterwards returned to England and ended his playing career at Hull City, Crewe Alexandra and Stockport County. After a brief managerial career in football he became the landlord at the Dog and Doublet in Sandon.
