Frank Mortimer Maglinne Worrell (1924-1967) was born in Barbados and was one of the greats of West Indian cricket, being one of the '3 Ws'. He was a stylish right hand batsman who played 51 tests for the West Indies, captaining the side on many occasions, and scoring 3860 runs at an average of 49.48. He was knighted in 1964. He also played for Norton Cricket Club in the Potteries in the mid 1960s. He died from leukemia in 1967, aged only 44.
