Description:As early as 1086 Burton Abbey owned a mill on this site on the Winshill side of the River Trent. The flor mill was rebuilt in 1701-2 and again in 1745 by Henry Hayne.

Thomas Greensmith installed a steam powered mill in 1889 and trubines in 1906. The Greensmiths converted to electricity in 1937, and milling finally ceased in the early 1990s. The surviving buildings include one dated 1715. It has since been converted into residences.
