Description:Medieval St. John's Hospital was on Lichfield Road, and was endowed to care for the poor and elderly. The White Lion Inn was later built on the site, and the rear of the building included stonework from the old chapel.

The White Lion was demolished in 1976 to make way for the Queensway ring road.

The seal is now in the British Museum.
