Description:Les Oakes' Reclamation Yard is situated along Oakamoor Road, Cheadle, about 500 yards outside the town It is some three miles from Oakamoor and in Cheadle Parish.

The yard was run as a cattle farm until the late 1970s when Les began his salvage business. Pictured is one of three large stores which were built in 1982 and 1983, containing Les's collections of horse-drawn vehicles, street signs, cigarette machines, toys, etc. A further building was built in 1992 and has the names 'Les + Mave' picked out in lighter roof tiles.

Les died suddenly in 2000, but his business and collection have been carried on by his wife Mavis and sons David and Jimmy.
