Description:Les and Mavis Oakes moved to Hales View Farm, near Oakamoor, in 1963. It was run as a cattle farm until the late 1970s when Les began his salvage business. Three large stores were built in 1982 and 1983, containing Les's collections of horse-drawn vehicles, street signs, cigarette machines, toys, etc. The building pictured was built in 1992, constructed from reclaimed materials, and has the names 'Les + Mave' picked out in lighter roof tiles.

Les died suddenly in 2000, but his business and collection have been carried on by his wife Mavis and sons David and Jimmy.
