Description:The canal basin and boatyard on the Trent and Mersey Canal at Stone. These 18th and 19th century buildings are now occupied by the Canal Cruising Company, founded in 1948,.

In the background can be seen the buildings of Joules' brewery, on the site now occupied (in 2020) by B&M. The glass fronted brewery building to the left contained the Head Brewer's office and laboratory, and on the top and middle floors large stainless steel fermenting vessels.

Joules' was taken over by Bass Charrington in 1970, but production ceased four years later. Demolition of the brewery took place in autumn 1977.
