Date:1948

Description:A streetscene from 1948 depicting the terraced houses and cobbles of Hick Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Two dogs, a tricycle and a bicycle can be seen on the lefthand pavement and a woman with a box can be seen at the far end of the righthand pavement. The terraced housing seen here is typical of that found in the town centre of Newcastle until the late 1960s.
