Description:The Royal Castle Flint Glass Works stood on Scropton Lane, Hatton, near Tutbury. This photograph shows Bottom Shop workers on a works outing to Dovedale, taken at the Peveril of the Peak Hotel, Thorpe, Derbyshire.
George Harry Corbett, formed Corbett & Co. Ltd. and purchased the business of the Royal Castle Flint Glassworks, in May 1911. George Harry Corbett is pictured in the front row. (The 'A. Corbett' pictured in the middle row may also be related). George Harry Corbett resigned from the business in June 1913. Corbett and Co. Ltd. was finally wound up in 1921, the Royal Fint Glassworks having been sold to Webb's Crystal Glass Company Ltd.
