Description:The Bottle Lodge, so called because of its shape, dates from c.1575.

It was built where the drive from Tixall Hall crossed the Stafford to Great Haywood road, and could possibly have been used as a toll house. beyond can be seen the buildings of Tixall Farm.

The woman in the road could possibly be Mrs. Statham who lived at Bottle Lodge when Mrs Bagnall was a child in the early 1900s.
