Description:Lotus was formerly Edwin Bostock's shoe factory, which was on Foregate Street, Stafford. The factory was destroyed by fire in 1901, but was rebuilt on Sandon Road in 1903. Bostock's became Lotus Ltd. in 1919. The Sandon Road factory was demolished in 1998. The closing room was where the various shapes of leather were stuck together to form shoe uppers. Here the female workers are using sewing machines.
