Description:Trio of Minton's 'Solano Ware' designed by John Wadsworth (1879-1955). Born in Macclesfield, John Wadsworth studied at Stockport Schools of Art and the Royal College of Art. In 1901 he was appointed Assistant Art Director to L.V. Solon at Minton's in 1901, becoming Art Director in 1905. In 1915 he moved to the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company as Art Director. In 1935 he returned to Minton's and remained there until his death in 1955.
