Description:Stafford Street, looking towards Gaolgate Street. These houses have now been replaced by shops.

The timber framed building in the centre burnt down in 1896.

Stafford Street was originally called Jerningham's Row. The corner was later known as Richardson's Corner, after the ironmonger's shop which once occupied the building. The shop closed in 1936.
