Description:A tinted postcard view of the junction of Longton Road and Nicholls Lane, showing Millbank Cottages and Hayes Mill. Published by A.W. Tilley, newsagent and stationers, 7 Radford Street, Stone.

Hayes Mill was built in about 1750 as a flint mill, grinding flint for use in the pottery industry. Water-powered grinding ceased in 1966, but the wash tubs, arks and drying kiln continued to be used until 1977. The buildings still stand but have since been converted into accommodation.
