Description:Looking towards the ford and Ford Farm. This view is now largely obscured by trees and scrub which has since invaded the heath land.

In the eighteenth century Bluebarn Farm on Downs Bank grew hops for Joule's Brewery. In 1946 Joule's purchased a the land from Viscount Sidmouth. It was presented to the National Trust on 22 July 1950 'as a thank offering for victory in the 1939 - 45 War and as a memorial to those who died there'. Endowed by public subscription, Downs Banks was then officially handed over to the National Trust.

A postcard view published by A.W. Tilley, Newsagent and Stationers of 7 Radford Street, Stone.
