Description:Averil's Entry runs between Greengate Street and St. Mary's Grove. Originally the passage came out by Averil's chemist shop, a fifteenth century building which was demolished in the 1960s.
The Grove Tearoom now occupies the building on the left and the gabled building on the right is now part of the Baker's Oven. A view of the site today would have the modern Boots building in the centre.
New cement now marks the place where the bracket of the gas lamp was once fixed.
