Description:A display of prizewinning sweet peas grown by James A. Heap at the Municipal Horticultural Show in Northampton. Mr Heap was tenant at the Walled Garden at Shugborough between 1939 and 1948 and specialised in sweet peas and chrysanthemums. This photograph was taken shortly before his move to Shugborough, while he was gardening at Snape, near Bedale, Yorkshire.
