Description:Photograph of Bernard, known as Bert(seated), and George Proctor, his son.

The Proctor family had owned the Gladstone China site since the 1870s, trading as George Proctor and Company from 1892.

Taken in the offices at Gladstone China, Uttoxeter Road, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

The office is described as 'bare and grimy.'

The factory ceased production in the early 1970s but after restoration re-opened as Gladstone Pottery Museum.
