Description:Standing in the centre of this photograph is Mr Jack Beardmore with other workers and partners from Thomas Bolton's Froghall Copper Works.

Thomas Bolton & Sons set up a copper works at nearby Oakamoor in 1852-3. By 1890 there was no more room for expansion at Oakamoor so they began building at Froghall. Major extensions followed in the 1930s, and in 1940 Froghall became the company headquarters. The works made copper wire, strip, sheet, bar, rod and tube, as well as machined components for the electrical and engineering industries.
