Description:A view of the towers which stood on the corner of Crooked Bridge Road and Gaol Road. They were demolished in 1953 when they were found to be unsafe.

The towers were built in the mid-nineteenth century as accommodation for prison warders and their families. During the housing shortage of the 1920s the Borough Council took over the towers for council housing. The prison was not occupied by offenders at this time.
