Description:The National Fire Brigades Association was formed in 1887 as the National Fire Brigades Union. In 1947 it was amalgamated with the Professional Fire Brigades Association to form the British Fire Service Association. This badge belonged to Mr Haywood of Moss Pit, Stafford, a member of the Auxiliary Fire Service during the Second World War. It was worn when attending union meetings. White metal badge with hinged pin fastening at back. Central circle with radiating nozzles. Black enamelled decoration. "NFBA" in centre and "432" at base. Diameter: 23mm. Length: 31mm.
