St. Peter's Church, Forsbrook was designed by Mr Barr of London. It was built by Mr Goldstraw of Wetley Rocks at a cost of over one thousand pounds, paid for by public subscription. The corner stone was laid by Rev. E. Whieldon, Rural Dean on 7 June 1847 and the Church was consecrated by the Bishop of the Diocese on 11 January 1849.

The Church was intended as a 'chapel of ease', to serve Forsbrook, Blythe Marsh and Blythe Bridge. It also cut the ecclesiastical link with All Saints, Dilhorne.

Further later work on the Church included an organ chamber built in 1883 and subsequently rebuilt in 1908 and a north aisle in 1912.

More recently, in 1989 was altered to house a new foyer, kitchen and two assembly rooms.
