Description:Construction of the new District Hospital at Coton Hill, Weston Road. It was built on the site of the former Coton Hill Asylum, which was built in the 1850s and opened in 1854. The building remained until 1976 when, apart from the chapel, the lodges and a wing of the old hospital, it was demolished and the new District General Hospital was built on the site.
