Description:Lantern slide containing a view of the formal gardens and buildings at Alton, Nr. Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Originally home to the Talbot family, Earls of Shrewsbury, Alton Towers has been developed into one of Europe's best known theme parks.

This is one of the few colour tinted images in the collection.
