Description:Whittington Inn is a grade II* listed building and was reputedly built in 1310 by Sir William Whittington, grandfather of Dick Whittington, the legendary Lord Mayor of London. This timber-framed house was extensively modified in about 1600 and has been an inn since the 1780s.
Extensive restoration was carried out in 1999 by the owners, the Wolverhampton and Dudley Brewery. The restoration uncovered the remains of an early 14th century cruck-framed hall, medieval wall paintings an a 17th century nightwatchman's shelter.
