Description:This plan is of the Hartshill Institute.

An article in The Staffordshire Sentinel and Midlands Counties Advertiser of Saturday, January 15, 1859 reports on the official opening of the building.

Its original purpose was as a reading room for the Hartshill Working Men's Association and it was referred to at that time as the Hartshill Working Men's Institution.

It was constructed in 1859 by Colin Minton Campbell and is now Grade II listed.
