Description:Group photograph taken during Staffordshire Constabulary Boxing championships.

The uniformed Sergeant standing to the right of the group of boxers is Stephen Wright, who was originally from Werrington. Two of Stephen's children joined Staffordshire County Police: his eldest child, Mary Elizabeth born in 1916 became W/Superintendent Mary Wright, dying whilst still serving, in 1972; and his youngest child, Peter John, born 1929, who left Staffordshire to join Hampshire Police, from where he retired as an Inspector. Peter died in 2008.
