This letter of thanks was sent by the aviator Claude Grahame-White to a Mr W Barker, proprietor of Trent Valley Mattings, Streethay, Lichfield.
"I take this opportunity of thanking you for the help you have given to me and for the facilities you have afforded for the storage of my aeroplane on the occasion of my descent at Lichfield.
I enclose herewith PO value £1 as a small recompense for the services you have rendered to me".
