"Petrolex" half gallon fire extinguisher

Date: 1910 - 1930 (c.) Description: This fire extinguisher has a cylindrical copper body with swivel nozzle. Made by Read and Campbell. A great variety of metal-bodied fire extinguishers were developed from about 1900. Many were developed to deal with new problems such as electrical, motor vehicle, oil and chemical fires. This item is part of the Staffordshire Fire Service collection held within the Staffordshire County Museum collection. Diameter: 130mm. Height: 330mm.
